The Chemka Hot Spring Tour takes you to a natural oasis near Moshi, about an hour’s drive from town. Fed by underground water from Mount Kilimanjaro, the spring forms a bright turquoise pool shaded by palm and fig trees. The water is warm, clear and perfect for a relaxed swim.

Detailed Itinerary

Pick-up (around 8:00 or 9:00 AM) Your guide and driver collect you from your hotel in Moshi (or Arusha by arrangement).

Drive to Chemka (about 1 to 1.5 hours) The road leads out of Moshi through villages and farmland, with views of the plains and Kilimanjaro on clear days. Your guide explains the area and answers your questions on the way.

Time at the hot spring (about 2 to 3 hours) Swim in the pool, float in the warm water, try the rope swing, take photos, or relax in the shade. Your guide stays nearby and can help with towels, bags and photos.
Picnic lunch Enjoy a packed or freshly prepared lunch by the pool. Vegetarian options are available on request.

Return to Moshi Drive back and drop-off at your hotel by mid or late afternoon (around 3:00 to 5:00 PM).

We booked the Kilimanjaro International Airport pick-up, transfer to Arusha, Moshi and Arusha Airport drop-off with them and drivers were very Ontime, professional, smart, knowledgeable, and so friendly, we felt like a family.
